Taj Mahal in Luneburg

Food really delicious. Ambience could be better. We have waited a long time.

I've been a regular customer there for many years, rather out of pity because the shop is usually empty and looks very cool. But the food was good, the service was friendly and there was always a goodbye schnapps, so it was okay. The last few times, however, the waitresses were inattentive, we sat in front of empty glasses for almost an hour and there was no schnapps either, all in all we had the feeling that they just wanted to get rid of us quickly.

Somewhat shabby restaurant with rather unwilling, bored staff. Saturated with kitchen smell. The laundry can actually go straight into the washing machine afterwards. The food was moderately good. I have eaten much better Indian. The bread that was also served was deep fried and only tasted of fat. The rating: food 3 to 4 stars, ambience 3 stars, service 2 stars

Two things are terrific about this visit: 1) Sitting under the high church walls, enjoying the sun, the light wind blowing around the venerable building, that's really very pleasant - great location. The restaurant cannot do anything about the fact that there are neat structural elements opposite. 2) The simple chicken curry with rice! It melts on my tongue and tastes heart-warming delicious with this curry sauce. Well, it can be assumed that with a fair lunch price of € 7.90 rum, it is formed meat. But as I said - super delicious! Because the sauce is nice and hot, the cooled rice doesn't bother. It comes across as visually pleasant, because small strips of pumpkin are worked into the basmati rice. This is reminiscent of saffron and pleases. Otherwise? I see the waiter exactly twice. When ordering and paying. The glasses on the next table still stand after me. The table shakes like hell, okay: cobblestones. All in all - a very pleasant lunch break!

We went there because of the good reviews, unfortunately Disappointed. We had the lunch table once with chicken and once with vegetarian dishes. Portions big just because of the rice optically both looked the same from the variety of sauces no trace. We both had almost the same thing Only vegetarian had 5 peas in it and chicken 3 pieces of meat, otherwise only rice and sauce. Not recommendable. The previous good reviews are certainly from the circle of acquaintances who have no weight.

Lunch table for € 7.50 Chicken Madras. Good portion, rice, salad and sauce delicious. The meat is soft and fits.
